Wakiso land titles delays

Amb made this Access to Information request to Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development

The request was partially successful.

Dear Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development,

I guess i am not the only one bringing this to your attention. We are just not satisfied with the way the Wakiso lands office does its work. They don't care, you go back and forth a million times with lots of stories etc. i think you should look into the management of that office. its time for the government to start serving its people diligently. I personally submitted my title for change of names last year in July 2015 but up to now, it has never been worked on. I have spent lots of money in transport and illegal fees but nothing has been done. People are crying at wakiso. i really don't understand why people don't work to create change and leave a legacy in govt offices. Jennifer Musisi has ably demonstrated this and people love her irrespective of her political associations. You should fire non performing individuals who fail the government and systems. You need to come up with a system where people rate the performance of government entities and investigate why some are performing so badly.
Anyway, please advise on who else to contact to have my title out.

Yours faithfully,

Amb

Dear Amb,
The Ministry takes note of your concern. What I would like to inform you is that after the computerization exercise, when the contracted project handed over to the Ministry, we have had to go through a process of verifying each and every record to ensure that the digital copy is a complete replica of the physical file. Only then can we put away the physical records and use the digital copies.
The process is complete in Jinja and Mbarara and for those offices, transactions take 1 -3 days. In Wakiso we have completed 44% of the titles. It means that if you have a transaction, it will take longer because of this task.
That said, can you send me the details of you submitted transaction so that I check and advise you accordingly. I assume you have an acknowledgement note from the Registry because without it, you do not have proof of submission.

Thanks

Dennis Obbo

Dear Dennisfo,

Please send me your email on [email address] so that i send you the details. i have the acknowledgement note since July 2014. Of course, even if its only 44% done, it cant take this long. I am not alone, there are a million other people like me. Please take this feedback very seriously if you have a heart for this country and want to change the way Govt serves its people. It starts with you and its not too much to ask for. I will be so grateful if you really sort me out on this coz i have lost hope.

Yours sincerely,

Amb
