I am writing to request for an internship placement in your esteemed organization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I am a second-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics at Makerere University, and I am eager to learn more about the role of economics in foreign policy and diplomacy.
I believe that an internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would provide me with invaluable experience in my career journey. I am particularly interested in the work that your ministry does in promoting Uganda's interests abroad and forging diplomatic relationships with other countries. I am eager to learn more about the economic implications of these relationships and how economic data is used to inform foreign policy decisions.
As a student of Quantitative Economics, I have developed a keen interest in data analysis, modelling and forecasting. I have also gained valuable skills in statistical software such as STATA, R, and Python. I am confident that I can apply these skills to the tasks assigned to me during the internship, and I am willing to learn new ones as required.
I am a hardworking and enthusiastic individual, and I am committed to making the most out of any opportunity given to me. I am willing to work under minimal supervision, and I am open to constructive feedback to help me improve my skills.
